Giorgos Papaioannou initiated the idea, after the great success of his flagship PAPAIOANNOU fish restaurant in Mikrolimano, aiming to further introduce his version of traditional Greek seafood dishes, beyond the borders of Piraeus.
The BARBOUNAKI BY PAPAIOANNOU brand is addressed to a wider age group, ranging from younger to older people due to its affordable pricing. Weekdays are also popular for business lunches and dinners whilst weekends welcome families, couples and groups of friends.
Today, in cooperation with Restaurateur Dimos Stasinopoulos, the BARBOUNAKI concept is thriving in various locations in Greece, with the intention of the brand’s development internationally.
